Kiev physicians to examine Nadezhda Savchenko in SIZO
Ukrainian diplomats have received the permission from the Russian side for the examination by Kiev physicians of Nadezhda Savchenko, who declared a hunger strike in the SIZO (pre-trial prison) in the Rostov Region. This was reported by Irina Geraschenko, the Kiev spokesperson in the humanitarian subgroup of the contact group on Donbas.

On March 7, Leonid Petrashis, Chairman of the Public Oversight Commission (POC) of the Rostov Region, visited Nadezhda Savchenko in the SIZO. According to him, the Ukrainian aviator continues her dry hunger strike, but there is no threat to her life, and on March 9, she will be able to participate in the hearing of the Donetsk City Court.
On her page in Facebook, Irina Geraschenko has written that Ukrainian diplomats have managed to obtain from the Russian authorities the promise that Kiev physicians will be allowed to visit Nadezhda Savchenko on March 9. Irina Geraschenko has noted that today, the mobile team of three physicians leaves Kiev for the Rostov Region.
According to Irina Geraschenko, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) to establish the headquarters "to coordinate the activities to rescue Savchenko."
