Rostov-on-Don: participants of action in memory of Nemtsov demand to ensure freedom of assembly

Today, a rally in memory of Boris Nemtsov in Rostov-on-Don gathered about a hundred participants. The action sparked interest in townspeople, who photographed the demonstrators and stopped to listen to their speeches.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today actions on the anniversary of Boris Nemtsov's murder were held today in several cities of Southern Russia: Volzhsky, Krasnodar and Astrakhan. A massive march was held in Moscow, where criticism of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov was voiced out.

All the demands of the anti-crisis march "Vesna" (Spring) held last year shortly after the murder of Boris Nemtsov, which were supported by residents of Rostov-on-Don, remain relevant, said Stanislav Truntaev, one of the organizers of the action, an activist of the "Solidarity" movement.

The resolution of the rally, adopted by its participants, demands to ensure the freedom of assembly and demonstrations in the country and stop the practice of criminal prosecution on political reasons. They called to bring to justice all those responsible for the murder of Boris Nemtsov, as well as the officials, who obstructed the inquiry. Finally, activists demanded to set up a memorial sign in the place of Boris' murder and rename the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge, where the murder was committed, after Nemtsov.

The resolution was addressed to the administration of the Russian president, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) and the General Prosecutor's Office.
