Baku: WELCOME to cross the railroad tracks (video)
The "Caucasian Knot" continues filming various realities of the Caucasus in the "slow-action" mode and invites readers to share their ideas.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent met Djavid in the Baku neighbourhood "Shanghai". This is the name of the densely and disorderly built-up settlement of Keshlya in the Nizami District of Baku. Thousands of poor townspeople live here right along the railway.
The "Caucasian Knot" has repeatedly addressed the problems of these people. According to Djavid, cargo and switching trains are crossing the neighbourhood two-three times a day; and for the last ten years, at least seven children died under train wheels.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has interviewed ten local residents, and they have all confirmed this information.
