Two activists detained in Yerevan
Today, about 30 people took part in an action at the building of the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Armenia in support of the arrested Gevorg Safaryan, a supporter of the Front of National Salvation "New Armenia". During the action, eggs were thrown at the GPO building.
Activists Varazdat Barsegyan and Pailak Tevanyan were detained by policemen in civilian clothes, Gagik Egiazaryan, a member of the "New Armenia", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
Egiazaryan believes that policemen act to put psychological pressure. "A criminal case may be initiated only in case of causing significant damage. Is it possible to do it with eggs?" he asked himself.
He noted that representatives of "New Armenia" appealed to the Ombudsman's office in connection with the detention of activists.
