Savchenko's complaint to Ella Pamfilova added to court files
Today, the Donetsk City Court of the Rostov Region continued hearing the case of the Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko, who has complained of infringement on the nationality grounds.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Savchenko's case is heard at the Donetsk City Court of the Rostov Region of Russia since September 22, 2015. The investigators believe that she corrected the artillery fire, and with the help thereof Ukrainian militaries attacked the settlement of Metallist in Donbas on June 17, 2014, and killed two journalists of the VGTRK (All-Russian TV and Radio Company). Today, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has demanded to release Savchenko.
Today’s session began with Savchenko's petition to Russian Ombudsperson Ella Pamfilova.
"I have a petition; at the last session I made a statement that I would write a complaint against the actions of the court to Ombudsperson and I did it. I hereby pass over one copy, written in Russian, to the court, and another one – to the prosecution," said Nadezhda Savchenko.
She noted in her petition that for the second time she appeals to the Ombudsperson because of infringements of her rights on the basis of her nationality, and asked to attach the petition to the case files as a complaint. The reason thereof was the refusal of the court to add a technical document, provided by an expert for the defence at the previous session, because the document was in the Ukrainian language.
