Suspected militant surrenders in Dagestan

A native of the village of Balakhani, suspected of belonging to militants, has surrendered voluntarily, said a source from the administration of the Untsukul District of Dagestan. The republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has confirmed the fact of voluntary surrender.

According to the source, the native of Balakhani voluntarily surrendered on January 28 in his native village. "From there he was taken to Shamilkala, where officials of the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) were present," the source told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The Untsukul ROVD (District Interior Division) said that the surrendered person had been on the wanted list.

Let us remind you that in October 2015, two suspected militants, villagers of Gimry, surrendered in Dagestan.
