Deputies support return of transport benefits for Kuban pensioners

Members of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar Territory have introduced changes to the regional law to return public transport benefits for pensioners.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 21, Veniamin Kondratiev, Governor of Kuban, signed the law to return a number of transport benefits after the protest actions held by pensioners in Krasnodar and Sochi.

The amount of funds allocated for the implementation of the social support measures indicated in the law will not exceed the expenses of 2015, reports Alexander Knyshov, Acting Minister of Labour and Social Development of the Krasnodar Territory.

The adopted amendments will enter into force on February 1, the RIA "FederalPress" reports.

Earlier, it has been reported that according to the amendments proposed by the Governor, the so-called "criterion of need" has been doubled to return benefits to those pensioners, whose monthly income does not exceed 15,000 roubles. Pensioners who have reached the age of 80 years and Category I Invalids will receive the benefit regardless of their income level. Besides, the single travel ticket will also be returned, reports the website of the administration of the Krasnodar Territory.
