Governor orders to dismantle high-rise building in Volgograd
The apartment building in Kosmonavtov Street in Volgograd, damaged by an explosion will be removed by disassembling the structure; the respective order was signed today by the Governor of the region. The version of a directed explosion was rejected by experts because of the densely built-up surrounding area.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 20, 2015, an explosion occurred in No. 47 in Kosmonavtov Street in Volgograd. As a result, 12 tenants were hospitalized; bodies of five casualties were found under ruins.
The fact that today the Governor of the Volgograd Region Andrei Bocharov has signed an order to disassemble the apartment building in Kosmonavtov Street was reported to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Svetlana Kuznetsova, the Chair of the Regional Committee for Construction.
"While earlier media reported that demolition could be made by a directed explosion, now the Governor has clearly instructed to dismantle the house by disassembling the structure," said Kuznetsova. "This issue has been analyzed and studied by experts; and the decision was made with account of the density of the surrounding development. The date to be defined later."
