CTO regime in Dagestan cancelled
The operative headquarters for Dagestan has made a decision to cancel the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime, introduced on January 11 in the village of Kvanada, the Tsumadin District.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the CTO regime was introduced in Kvanada at 4:00 a.m. Moscow time on January 11. In the course of a shootout, power agents killed a man, who was later identified as Magomed Abdulkhalikov, the leader of the "Tsumadin" grouping of militants. The NAC has reported that the power agents are searching for his accomplices.
The decision to lift the CTO regime was adopted today.
"At 11:00 a.m. Moscow time, by the decision of the operative headquarters, the CTO regime was cancelled within the administrative boundaries of the village of Kvanada, Tsumadin District," said the spokesman of the Dagestani operative headquarters, who is quoted by the RIA "Novosti".
According to local residents, the CTO was held in a small district. A column of servicemen arrived in the village; during the CTO regime, village school was closed.
