In Grozny, attendant of school No. 20 awarded medal for bravery during militants' attack
Yakha Dokaeva, an attendant of the Grozny school No. 20, has been awarded the Medal "For Distinguished Service to the Chechen Republic". In December 2014, the building of the school No. 20 was captured by members of an illegal armed formation (IAF).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of December 4, 2014, IAF members attacked law enforcers in Grozny. As a result of their attack, 14 law enforcers, 11 militants, and two civilians were killed.
"Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has issued a decree to award Yakha Dokaeva, an attendant of the school No. 20 in Grozny, the Medal 'For Distinguished Service to the Chechen Republic'. The woman was seriously wounded in the capture of the school by militants in December 2014. One of the terrorists shot and wounded her from a grenade launcher; however, despite her wound, the woman managed to get out of the building," said an official from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Chechen Republic.
According to him, Yakha Dokaeva also received a cash award from the Regional Public Foundation named after Akhmat Kadyrov.
An official from the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has noted that the courage and readiness of Yakha Dokaeva helped to avoid more severe consequences of the capture of the school.
