In Sochi, police push protesting pensioners on sidewalk (+video)
In Sochi, at the request of the police, pensioners had to clear the road, blocked by them in protest against the abolition of preferential passage tickets. After that, the protesters marched towards the City Mayor's Office.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, a group of Sochi pensioners blocked Gorky Street near the building of the City Mayor's Office. They demanded the return to them of preferential passage tickets for on public transport and the meeting with Sochi Mayor Anatoly Pakhomov.
At 12:05 a.m., the pensioners were surrounded by the police. They have been informed that the Mayor is waiting for them at the City Mayor's Office. The police called to release the roadway and go to the Mayor's Office. Some protesters refused to leave the place. Ambulances started to arrive to the place of the protest action, and the pensioners were forced to release the road to let them pass.
At 12:20 a.m., after the police and the Cossacks finally pushed the protesters on the sidewalks, the traffic was restored in the street.
The protest action involves more than 100 pensioners, the website of the "Max Portal Sochi" reports.
