Human rights defenders condemn Ramzan Kadyrov's statement on non-systemic opposition

The statement made by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov concerning the non-systemic opposition was thoughtless and harmful for the Russian authorities. This opinion was expressed by human rights defenders. They believe such statements are dangerous and that they do not contribute to the stability in society.

On January 12, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov declared that the non-systemic opposition is trying to undermine the political situation in Russia.

The statements made by Ramzan Kadyrov have provoked a strong reaction of Konstantin Senchenko, a deputy of the City Council of Krasnoyarsk.

"Ramzan, you are a disgrace of Russia. You have discredited all you can," wrote Konstantin Senchenko, in particular, on his Facebook page. He believes that Ramzan Kadyrov has discredited the post of the leader of a subject of the Federation, as well as the title of an academician, "since he has a 3-form education."

On January 14, the website of the Chechen State TV and Radio Company (ChSTRC) "Grozny" reported that Konstantin Senchenko publicly apologized to Ramzan Kadyrov for the phrases addressed to him; however, the information is not confirmed.

The Ramzan Kadyrov's statement has been "ill-advised", and it cannot be treated as an official position of the Russian authorities. Meanwhile, such statements are not going to contribute to the development of the political and social spheres of Russia. This opinion was expressed by Alexander Brod, a member of the Presidential Human Rights Council (HRC).

Ella Pamfilova, Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, has emphasized that if the opposition activities take place in the framework of the Constitution, then no one has the right to subject it to "administrative, judicial or other kind of arbitrariness."
