Authorities prepare certificates for 67 families from collapsed house in Volgograd

The authorities of the Volgograd Region have reported on readiness of documents for the resettlement of 67 families from the house in Cosmonauts Street deprived of housing as a result of an explosion.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 20, 2015, an explosion occurred in No. 47 in Cosmonauts Street in Volgograd. As a result, 12 people were hospitalized, and other five were killed. Experts have recognized the house as a subject to demolition.

More than 200 apartments "ready-to-operate" can be provided to the tenants of the collapsed house for the purchase with the use of state housing certificates. The apartments are located in the houses of the Soviet District of Volgograd in the framework of the programme "Housing for a Russian family". The houses will be put into operation before July 1, 2016, the website of the government of the Volgograd Region reports.

"At least 67 out of 108 families deprived of their housing as a result of a gas explosion in the multi-storey building can become new tenants in the residential district 'Spring Valley', the first stage of which shall be put into operation on July 1, 2016," the "TASS" quotes Svetlana Kuznetsova, the head of the construction committee of the Volgograd Region, as reporting.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that, according to the tenants, the conditions of their relocation from the multi-storey building do not correspond with the situation on the real estate market. On December 29, they sent a letter to the Russian President and the Volgograd Governor with the proposal not to provide them with temporary housing and direct the funds for the construction of a residential building on the place of their collapsed house.
