Gyumri pays tribute to massacred Avetisyan family members

On January 12, in Gyumri, people held a commemorative event in connection with the anniversary of the killing of the Avetisyan family members. Relatives of the Avetisyan family and politicians have voiced the need to carry out hearings on the case in the building of the Armenian court. They believe it depends on the venue of the trial whether the public will know the truth of the case.

The relatives of the Avetisyan family members have claimed they do not intend to take part in the court hearings in the case of the killing, which are expected to be carried out in a building in the territory of the 102nd Russian military base.

A sister of the killed Asmik Avetisyan has noted that she believes it is immoral to search relatives of the killed people at the entrance to the military base.

Rita Petrosyan, another sister of Asmik Avetisyan, has claimed a lot of inconsistencies in the case.

Thus, according to Rita Petrosyan, the case materials mention perfectly clean Permyakov's boots with his initials, which, according to investigators, were left by him in the house of the Avetisyan family. The woman has said that she does not believe in the assumption that Permyakov acted alone. Rita Petrosyan has noted that in case if no changes occur in the court hearing format then the relatives will boycott the court hearings and organize protests.

Zarui Postandjyan, the leader of the "Heritage" faction, has declared that the preliminary investigation and now the trial in the case of the murder take place with gross violations. So, according to her, Permyakov has not been extradited to the Armenian side and is being kept at the Russian military base, and the trial itself takes place outside the hall of the Armenian court of general jurisdiction.
