PFPA activist Fuad Akhmedli arrested for 10 days

On December 25, in Baku, Fuad Akhmedli, a member of the Youth Committee of the opposition Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), was sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest on the charge of disobeying the police.

Fuad Akhmedli was detained in the evening on December 25. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Gezyal Bayramly, Deputy Chairman of the PFPA. At about 8:00 p.m., the Khatai District Court of Baku pronounced the decision to arrest Fuad Akhmedli for 10 days on the charge of having committed an offense under Article 310.1 (disobedience to police) of the Administrative Code of Azerbaijan.

Relatives and colleagues of the activist believe that he has been arrested for his critical publication about the devaluation of the manat posted on the Facebook.

According to the father of Fuad Akhmedli, yet on December 23, his son was summoned to the police station, where he was reprimanded for the publication on the Facebook. "We did not make the story public. However, they apparently decided to go beyond a simple warning," the man has said.
