Circassian activists hold picket near Russian Embassy in Istanbul

In Istanbul, Circassian activists have held a protest action in front of the building of the General Consulate of Russia in Istiklal Street in connection with the arrest of repatriate Adnan Khuade and his daughter in Adygea.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that businessman Adnan Khuade, a Circassian repatriate from Turkey, his daughter, and their female assistant were arrested for 15 days for a conflict with the FSB. Earlier, the Circassian activist has been already subjected to pressure by the law enforcement bodies. Meanwhile, he reported about the searches at his workplace and at home.

On December 19, the protest action in front of the building of the Russian General Consulate in Istanbul was attended by about 50 Circassian activists and journalists of local and international media, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The protest action was sanctioned, and it took place without incidents.

The activists have expressed their indignation about the detention of the Khuade family in Maikop and their arrest. Furthermore, they claimed the continuation of the pressure on Circassians in the region and its strengthening in connection with the aggravation of the Russian-Turkish relations.
