Sargsyan and Aliev support OSCE's proposals on settling Karabakh conflict

A meeting of Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan took place today in Bern, Switzerland, at the background of reports of violations of the ceasefire regime in the conflict zone. Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliev expressed their support to the mechanism of investigating incidents on the border and measures aimed to settle the conflict, suggested by the OSCE.

The Sargsyan-Aliev meeting was held with the participation of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and Andrzej Kasprzyk – the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman, the APA reports.

The Presidents discussed the latest developments on the border, confirmed their readiness to consider proposals on settling the conflict and reaffirmed their commitment to the format of the Minsk Group, the News.am reports.

Let us remind you that the parties of the Karabakh conflict are exchanging – on the daily basis – accusations of ceasefire violations. Today, Nagorno-Karabakh has stated that within a week Azerbaijan has lost 13 soldiers; and more than 30 soldiers were wounded. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) denies the combat losses. Within the week, the MoD has confirmed only the death of Private Rashad Djafarzade.
