In Azerbaijan, Natiq Kerimov, one of the elders of Nardaran, who was detained on December 9, was questioned as a witness in the case of the events in the village. He had to sign a recognizance not to disclose the secrecy of the investigation. Natiq Kerimov was released after having spent six hours at the police station.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning of December 9, Natiq Kerimov was detained at the exit of Nardaran. According to prosecutors, he was brought for questioning to the Investigating Department on Grave Crimes of the General Prosecutor's Office.
"I was thoroughly questioned about the recent events in Nardaran. Unfortunately, I cannot now disclose the details, since I had to sign a recognizance not to disclose the secrecy of the investigation," Natiq Kerimov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent in the evening of December 9.
According to him, the residents of Nardaran are interested in an objective and thorough investigation of the events in Nardaran. Meanwhile, he has added that the investigators should be objective and be carried out within the law.
