Three IS militants killed in Dagestan, NAC reports
The militants killed in Dagestan were leaders of the "Tabasaran" and "Suleiman-Stalsky" militant groupings. This was reported by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC). 26-year-old Gasan Mamedyarov and 36-year-old Robert Melikov were wanted for the murder of hunters.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of November 29, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime was introduced within some parts of the Suleiman-Stalsky and Magaramkent Districts of Dagestan. Three militants were killed in the course of the special operation, law enforcers report.
According to the NAC, earlier, the killed militants had sworn allegiance to the "Islamic State" (IS). It is also noted that "operative and search activities are still underway" in the Suleiman-Stalsky and Magaramkent Districts, the "Interfax" reports.
"The neutralized criminals were involved in a number of terrorist crimes, including extortion of money from entrepreneurs and murders of law enforcers and civilians. So, in September, they murdered local hunters in order to intimidate civilians," the NAC reports as quoted by the RIA "Novosti".
