"Ochag" reports on tight situation faced by Syrian Circassians in Kabardino-Balkaria

The questioning held among Syrian Circassians, living in the villages of Kabardino-Balkaria, has identified the families in an extremely difficult situation. This was reported by members of the public organization "Ochag" (Hearth). According to them, three families are in need of high-priority help.

The "Caucasian Knot" has been informed by Yali Kat, a member of the "Ochag", that the questioning will allow collecting more comprehensive data on returnees and learning about their problems.

Members of the "Ochag" and volunteers have already visited six villages, including Erokko, Anzorei, Vtoroi Lesken, Blagoveschenka, Karagach, and Kremenchug-Konstantinovskoe. They have interviewed members of 44 families. According to Yali Kat, they are still to interview members of ten families, living in the villages of Zhemtal, Nartan, Psyhurei, the Cossack village of Alexandrovskaya, and villages of the Terek District of Kabardino-Balkaria.

The activist has also reported that in the village of Kremenchug-Konstantinovskoe, almost all the houses of Syrian Circassians need repairing and some houses are in extremely poor condition.

There are large families with children among the Syrian Circassians, who need food and personal care products. Residents of Kabardino-Balkaria continue to help their compatriots, who arrived from Syria.

According to Asker Bora, the leader of the "Ochag", the public organization has also held three days of volunteer work to provide assistance to the returnees.
