Priests demand resignation of Georgian Minister of Education because of school Halloween parties

In Tbilisi, a group of priests and their parishioners have organized a protest action in front of the Georgian Ministry of Education. Several dozen protesters demanded the resignation of Tamara Sanikidze, Minister of Education.

The protest action was caused by the celebration of Halloween in local schools. Earlier, several schools held festive masquerades dedicated to Halloween. The protesting priests and their parishioners have stated that Halloween is not a holiday, but devil worship.

"Schools should not be involved in such actions. Children need to know that this is not a game. This is Satanism," one of the protesters has stated as quoted by the "Interfax".

In this case, the protesting priests and their parishioners blame the Georgian Ministry of Education, which allows people to "carry out actions like that."

Officials from the Georgian Ministry of Education have stated that they cannot force people and tell them whether they should celebrate Halloween or not.
