Spanish city of Aldaia acknowledged the Armenian Genocide
Today, all the four parties making the parliament of the Spanish city of Aldaia in the province of Valencia have unanimously condemned the Armenian Genocide committed in the Ottoman Turkey.
The city MPs have also condemned the policy of denial of the genocide, says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia.
According to the press service of the MFA, thus, the city of Aldaia has joined the list of dozens of other cities who have recognized the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey in 1915 and condemned the denial thereof.
The draft resolution on recognition of the genocide had been presented to the city parliament by the Armenian Union "Ararat" of Valencia. It was brought to debate by Juanjo Yorente, the Speaker of the Left-Wing Union.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this year marks the 100th anniversary since the beginning of the Armenian Genocide. On April 23, Armenia canonized 1.5 million victims of the tragedy. On September 11 the UN General Assembly, on the initiative of Armenia, declared December 9 to be the Day of Remembrance of Genocide Victims.
