OSCE Minsk Group expresses concern about use of heavy weapons in conflict zone
Prior to OSCE monitoring at the contact line, the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh has presented to co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group parts of unexploded shells of heavy artillery and TR-107, a rocket launcher made in Turkey, from which, according to the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh, the Azerbaijani armed forces shelled the Karabakh territory.
The mediators have expressed their concern about the use of heavy weapons in the conflict zone and called for the development of public diplomacy.
"We are very concerned when violations occur, especially because of the fact that heavy weapons are used, fragments of which are represented here," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by James Warlick, United States co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group.
He has added that they will "raise the issue concerning the ceasefire violations at the meeting with the Azerbaijani side."
"For us, it is unacceptable that the situation is deteriorating here and heavy weapons and heavy mortar launchers are being used," stated Igor Popov, Russian co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group.
