Movement "Arise, Armenia!" declares sitting picket in Yerevan
Activists of the civil movement "Arise, Armenia!" have started a sitting picket in front of the Armenian Parliament with the demand of a meeting with Grair Tovmasyan, Chief of the Office of the National Assembly.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 26, members of the civil movement "Arise, Armenia!" announced a round-the-clock protest action, demanding a meeting with Grair Tovmasyan in order to organize a discussion of the demands voiced by the activists with Galust Saakyan, Speaker of Parliament. However, the activists could not meet Grair Tovmasyan.
Today, members of the civil movement "Arise, Armenia!" have started a sitting picket in front of the National Assembly of Armenia, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The activists installed three large posters with the demands put forward against the Armenian National Assembly.
According to organizers, the protest action involves about a dozen people.
"During the day, the number of picketers may increase. At night, we will be on duty in groups of 5-6 persons," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Gagik Egiazaryan, a member of the movement "Arise, Armenia!".
According to the organizers, the picket will last until October 30. However, they did not rule out that the protest action will be prolonged.
