Refusal to investigate torture of Tamerlan Eskerkhanov recognized as legitimate

Advocates intend to appeal against the decision of the Basmanny Court of Moscow to recognize as legitimate the refusal to institute a criminal case on torture of Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, a defendant in the case of the Boris Nemtsov's murder.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported on that the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) refused to grant the complaint of Tamerlan Eskerkhanov to open a criminal case on the fact of torture allegedly used against the suspect by law enforcers.

"Today, the Basmanny Court has dismissed our appeal against the decision not to open a criminal case on the complaint about the use of physical violence against Tamerlan Eskerkhanov by law enforcers," advocate Roza Magomedova reports as quoted by the "RAPSI" (Russian Agency of Legal and Judicial Information).

According to the advocate, the Court's decision will be challenged at the Moscow City Court, the "TASS" reports.
