Sochi residents protest against electoral violations
Staff members of public organizations and political parties, operating in Sochi, held a two-hour action with the slogan "Against fraud at the elections to the City Assembly".
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 13, Sochi held the elections to the City Assembly. Following the elections, the seats in the City Assembly were won by 40 deputies from the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party, two deputies from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR), one from the "Spravedlivaya Rossiya" (Fair Russia) Party, and seven self-nominees. Participants of the elections reported on system violations before and during the voting and on the election officials' disregard of their complaints.
Today, the protest action has been held during two hours in Komsomolsk Park. It was attended by members of public movements and members of the "Rodina", "Yabloko", "Communists of Russia" Parties and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
The protest action was watched by a group of policemen, volunteer guards, Cossacks, and staff members of the Sochi Mayor's Office. The spokesman of the administration press service recorded the protesters on video.
In their speeches, the protesters gave examples of the violations committed and the use of administrative resource during the elections held.
