Relatives of hunters killed in Dagestan abandon protest action

Instead of holding an unsanctioned pre-planned rally in Kasumkent, residents of the Suleiman-Stalsky District took part in the extended meeting of the antiterrorist commission.

On September 18 and 19, law enforcers found bodies of five killed local residents in the forests of the Suleiman-Stalsky District. A militants' summer camp was discovered not far from the place of the murder. Four local residents are suspected of the murder.

Today, relatives of the victims have been invited to the meeting of the antiterrorist commission. The meeting was attended by the heads of the regional departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the FSB, the authorized representative of the Dagestani leader in the Southern territorial district, and public figures, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

During the discussion, the relatives of the victims demanded from the law enforcers to carry out the soonest investigation into the crime and to punish the criminals. Meanwhile, the relatives of the victims noted that they refused to hold a protest rally.

The law enforcers have reported that they are carrying out certain activities and that they have already achieved the first results. The law enforcers called on the public to closer cooperation, and, in particular, they urged people to report the cases of aiding and abetting members of illegal armed formations (IAFs).
