"Party of Veterans of Russia" gains 68.8% at elections in Buynaksk
According to the preliminary data reported by the Election Commission for Dagestan, the "Party of Veterans of Russia" gained 68.8% of votes at the elections to the City Assembly of Buynaksk. The second highest number of votes went to the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party, which gained 18.57%.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 13, the united voting day in Russia, a number of regions of Southern Russia and Northern Caucasus held elections of various levels. Residents of Buynaksk voted at the elections of deputies to the City Assembly.
Observers reported the low voter turnout in the city, and the "Party of Veterans of Russia" claimed identification of seven violations committed during the voting. On the same day, the "Party of Veterans of Russia" claimed its victory at the elections with reference to the preliminary data.
According to the data of the Election Commission for Dagestan as at 2:45 a.m. Moscow time, 68.80% of voters gave their votes to candidates nominated by the Dagestani regional branch of the "Party of Veterans of Russia". The second place went to candidates of the "Edinaya Rossiya" Party, who gained 18.57% of votes, the website of the Election Commission for Dagestan reports.
It should be noted that as at 7:40 a.m., the "Map of Violations" maintained by the movement to protect the rights of voters "Voice" published five reports, the authors of which complained about incidents during the election campaign in Buynaksk, including vote buying, ballot stuffing, and shooting at an electoral precinct.
