Power agents end examining Novy Kurush

During the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime in the Dagestani village of Novy Kurush, law enforcers checked documents and restricted motor traffic. Besides, local residents said that searches were conducted in the adjacent forest area. By the morning on September 12, power agents stopped their check.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the CTO legal regime was introduced in the territory between the dwelling settlements of Batayurt, Novy Kurush and Sadovoe in the morning on September 11. The CTO was associated with the inquiry into the murder of Imam Magomed Khidirov, which was committed on September 9 in the village of Novy Kurush. The crime may have been committed by militants of the grouping acting in the territory of the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan, said the spokesman for the investigation. In the evening on September 11, the CTO regime was cancelled.

A local resident has reported that in the morning on September 11 a large concentration of power agents was noticed near the village of Novy Kurush.

The Imam was buried on September 9 into the local cemetery, said a Novy Kurush villager named Nazim. The funeral was attended by more than a thousand people.

An employee of the village administration of Sadovoe, situated near Novy Kurush, has noted that local residents experienced no problems from the CTO regime.

A source from the ROVD (District Interior Division) said that the power agents were searching for members of the "Khasavyurt" diversion-and terrorist grouping (DTG), members of which could be involved in the murder of the Imam. According to the source, law enforcement bodies already have particular suspects.
