Murat Borlakov's relatives claim compensation for moral harm and material damage
The suffered party in the case of the death of the detainee Murat Borlakov at the police station has evaluated its moral harm, funeral costs and advocate's fees as 5.5 million roubles.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 3, 2014, Murat Borlakov, a resident of Karachay-Cherkessia, was taken, along with two friends, to the Ust-Djeguta ROVD (District Interior Division). An hour after his detention, he died. According to his friends, Borlakov was tortured.
At the Ust-Djeguta District Court of Karachay-Cherkessia, where today the consideration of Borlakov's death continued, the suffered party has lodged a civil lawsuit against the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) on collecting a compensation in the amount of 5.5 million roubles, the lawyer Pavel Misharin, who represents the victims, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. The court has left the petition without progress under the motive of the need to finalize the claims.
While lodging the civil suit, Pavel Misharin has explained that the claimed sum includes the recovery from each of the defendants of up to 1 million roubles as compensation of moral harm; 400,000 roubles of funeral expenses; and 100,000 roubles of lawyer's royalty.
