Sergey Kaziev dies in Nalchik SIZO
Today, Sergey Kaziev, who is sentenced on charges of the attack on Nalchik and who is on hunger strike since May, has died at the SIZO (pre-trial prison) of Nalchik.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 22, Sergey Kaziev, sentenced to 14.5 years of imprisonment, declared a hunger strike with a demand to transfer him to a place of punishment. In July, Sergey Kaziev refused to stop his hunger strike until the end of the month of Ramadan. Furthermore, he also continued his hunger strike after Eid al-Fitr.
On August 4, an official from the SIZO administration reported that "the health state of Sergey Kaziev was not serious." This was noted by Alexandra Kazieva, the mother of the man sentenced in the case of the attack on Nalchik. Meanwhile, according to the woman, since the beginning of his hunger strike, Sergey Kaziev lost half of his weight.
