Religious leader killed in Stavropol Territory
This morning, the Deputy Imam of the village of Irgakly in the Stavropol Territory has been found dead. His body bears signs of numerous gunshot wounds. This has been reported by a relative of the dead religious leader.
32-year-old Zamirbek Makhmutov was going to the mosque for a morning prayer, when he was shot and killed by unidentified persons. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a relative of the victim.
"Zamirbek entered no conflicts with anyone, and he used to be a man of peace. He was killed for his religious activity, and there is no place for other reasons here. He was under constantly pressure of law enforcers, who seized his PC and then returned it," the victim's relative has noted.
The Mufti of the Stavropol Territory has been already informed about the crime. According to Mukhammad-Khadji Rakhimov, "the news of the Zamirbek Makhmutov's murder became a shock for the local community."
Zamirbek Makhmutov graduated from the Russian Islamic University in Kazan, and he used to be a connoisseur of the Koran. He has left four minor children, and his wife is to give birth to the fifth child soon.
