Baksan Court rules to arrest Zhabrail Shugushev

Zhabrail Shugushev, a villager of Dugulubgei (Dygulybgey), whose whereabouts his relatives tried to establish since August 15, was arrested by the court until 14 September.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 15 the house of Zhabrail Shugushev, a resident of the village of Dugulubgei, Baksan District of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) was searched. After the search, according to his relatives, Zhabrail Shugushev was taken away to some unknown place.

On August 17, the Baksan City Court of the KBR ruled to put Zhabrail Shugushev in custody for one month – until September 14. His relatives have reported that Zhabrail was detained by power agents on suspicion of possessing firearms and participation in an illegal armed formation (IAF).

"We had to wait for a few hours for the start of the court session, because of an unexpected situation with our advocate," Eduard, one of Shugushev's relatives, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"The fact is that we hired an advocate for Zhabrail, but he rejected him for some unknown reason. An appointed state advocate was sent to him; and in his presence Zhabrail signed everything the investigator wanted," said Eduard.
