Defence of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev requests retrial outside Boston
In Boston, the trial in the case against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev who was sentenced to death penalty for organizing the terror act during the marathon could not be impartial. This has been stated by his advocates. They have filed a motion for holding a new trial in another city.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was sentenced by a jury to death penalty on May 15.
On August 17, advocates of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev filed a motion to hold a new trial in the case against their client outside of Boston, since, according to the motion, holding "a fair and impartial trial" in the city where the terror act has been committed is not possible, the "TASS" reports today.
"The biased attitude of the media, the events, and the whole situation in Boston have made this city an unsuitable place for a trial in the case," the motion states.
Moreover, according to the defence of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, an impartial trial has been prevented by "a continuous and relentless response" expressed, in the advocates' opinion, in the fact that the media and social networks keep publishing the information on the Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's family members and the interviews with survivors of the terror act.
