Parents of baby that died in Novorossiysk state unjustified withdrawal of their children

Victoria and Maxim Tonkikh believe that the guardianship bodies of Novorossiysk had no reasons to take away their baby, who died on August 12 in hospital, and his three-year-old sister. The parents assert that the baby was dropped down at hospital.

Currently, a forensic examination is underway to establish the reason of the baby's death, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by an employee of the press service of the Krasnodar Territorial Ministry of Public Health.

The acquaintances of the family have characterised the Tonkikh spouses as a normal, but socially unprotected family.

"Problems appeared in my sister's family after Maxim lost his job," said Yulia Stefanets, the aunt of the dead baby.

According to her story, the children were perfectly healthy, when the guardianship body decided to take them away.

Victoria Tonkikh said that while the children were in hospital, her husband presented a certificate of his employment to the guardianship. Then, it was decided to return the baby to parents.

"But on August 12 they called me and said that my baby had died," said Victoria.

The face of the baby, in the area of the lower jaw, had a large haematoma, she said.

"We were shocked, when we saw the baby: it was all in bruises, with a blue face. Until now, nobody has explained us how it all happened," said Maxim Tonkikh.

An inspection of the circumstances of withdrawal of the children from the Tonkikh family is also held by the Association of Parents' Committees and Communities, Olga Letkova, the Director of the Central Council of the Association, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to her version, the guardianship and the police had acted without due grounds.
