Gizel villagers in North Ossetia state water shortage

Outages of water supply in the village of Gizel, Prigorodny District of North Ossetia, are constant. A gravity water conduit passes near the village; however, its water bypasses the village and is directed to other swelling settlements.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in late July Gizel remained partially without water because of wrong connection of the water supply lines. On August 4, on the eighth day of the outage, it was announced that the problem of water supply to the village was eliminated.

People regularly and timely pay their water bills, but the water supply of due quality has never been ensured, Angela Kargaeva, a local resident, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The village water pipes need replacement, but the local authorities in charge of them have no money to do it, villagers told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The problem should be solved, the village administration agrees. In order to establish the proper water supply, 1700 meters of water pipes need replacement, an administration official told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to his story, the works began on August 5.
