"Kommersant": Anzor Gubashev reports torture to ICRF
Anzor Gubashev, a figurant in the murder case of politician Boris Nemtsov, has written an application to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) about the violence applied to him by law enforcers, the "Kommersant" reports.
Boris Nemtsov was killed in Moscow on February 27. Five persons, including Zaur Dadaev, Anzor and Shagid Gubashev, Khamzat Bakhaev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, were detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder and put under arrest.
According to Gubashev’s application, after being detained on March 6 and before his deportation to Moscow, he spent about 24 hours, presumably, in North Ossetia, where, in order to force him to evidence, law enforcers were shooting blanks near him; he was tortured with electric current and threatened to be sawn by a grinder.
"I was shocked and gripped with fear for my life and health," The "Kommersant" quotes the application of Gubashev.
Gubashev indicated that he dared to report about the pressure on him only after the appearance of his contracted advocate.
The "Caucasian Knot" has also informed that earlier, according to "Kommersant", similar applications about the pressure on them in preparing their testimonies were sent to the ICRF by the defendants Zaur Dadaev and Tamerlan Eskerkhanov. However, the investigation refused to open criminal cases on their applications, thus, recognizing that their preliminary testimonies are legal.
