Armenian activists demand dissolution of CRPS
The members of the movement "Arise, Armenia!" demand dissolution of the Commission on Regulation of Public Services (CRPS) of Armenia – they have started collecting signatures on this issue.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since July 27 activists of the civil initiative "Arise, Armenia!" began their picket against the increase of electricity tariff in Republic Square.
Activists point out in their statement to CRPS that during the last three years (2012-2014) the "Electric Grids of Armenia" (EGA) worked with total losses of more than 55 billion drams; and by the summer of 2015 the company had completely exhausted its authorized capital. By the law, the EGA should have been dismissed; however, the CRPS satisfied the request of the EGA to increase the electricity tariff.
Further, the authors of the statement question the competence of the CRPS, which had attracted international consulting companies for the solution of the problems.
The board of the movement "Arise, Armenia!" ends its statement to the CRPS by a demand to dissolve the commission, treating its future activities as "dangerous for the society." To prove that their demand is supported by thousands of Armenian citizens, activists promise to organize a collection of signatures to the statement.
