Two KBR residents suspected of helping militants

Law enforcement authorities suspect two residents of the Baksan District of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) of financing members of the armed underground, illegal circulation of arms and narcotic drugs.

According to the police, the villagers of Dugulubgey, aged 21 and 23, rendered help to members of illegal armed formations (IAFs).

"The young men provided conspiratorial accommodation, transportation, foodstuffs and medicines, as well as financed criminal activities of the bandits, who were on the federal wanted list," says the website of the MIA of the KBR.

Criminal cases were opened against both suspects on IAF financing, illegal circulation of ammunition and narcotic drug, the MIA reports. The respective articles of the Criminal Code provide for up to 15 years in prison.
