Marat Balkarov, resident of Dugulubgey, taken into custody
The court of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) has arrested Marat Balkarov, a villager of Dugulubgey, whose disappearance after detention was reported by his relatives. Balkarov is suspected of possessing firearms, but he refuses to plead guilty.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Balkarov was detained on July 28. According to his sister, the search was carried out by armed men in camouflage uniform, who refused to introduce themselves and refused to explain anything. On the first day after detention, the whereabouts of Balkarov were not established.
Balkarov was brought to the temporary detention facility (known as IVS) of the Baksan OVD (Interior Division), said his advocate Elena Bairamkulova. According to her story, the court placed her client into custody for a month on suspicion of illegal arms possession.
