Case on massacre in Gyumri arrives in Investigating Committee of Armenia

Officials of the Investigating Committee of Armenia have received the case files of the murder of the Avetisyan family in Gyumri, which was earlier investigated by the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night on January 12, in Gyumri, a mass murder of the members of the Avetisyan family was committed. Valery Permyakov, a regular soldier from Russia, is accused of committing the massacre.

On June 26, during a meeting of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan with the Russian delegation headed by Maxim Sokolov, the Minister of Transports of Russia and the Co-Chair of the Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission, it was decided to transfer the Permyakov's case in the part of the murder to the Armenian party. On June 30, the Armenian General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) said that it was "difficult to specify the particular date of the transfer of the case."

The head of the investigating group of the Chief Department for Especially Important Cases of the Investigating Committee of Armenia has sent the materials obtained from the ICRF for translation.

In total, the Investigating Committee of Armenia has received nine volumes of the murder case in Gyumri, the "Interfax" reports.

Let us remind you that the murder in Gyumri caused a wave of protests after the spokesman of the Armenian GPO said that Permyakov would not be given out to the Armenian justice, since he is a citizen of Russia.
