Days-off on occasion of Eid ul-Fitr announced in five regions of NCFD

Five regions out of seven in the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) and Adygea have announced the first days of Eid ul-Fitr (Uraza-Bayram) as holidays. At the same time, Muslims of Dagestan and Chechnya will complete their fasting on July 18 – a day later than in other regions.

In the Stavropol Territory, the festive sermon and prayer will be read out on July 17, a source from the Spiritual Administration of Muslims (SAM) of the Stavropol Territory told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The SAM of Dagestan has announced July 18 to be the first day of celebrating the Eid ul-Fitr. In this context, July 18, 19 and 20 are announced to be days-off in Dagestan, says the website of the republic's government.

In Kabardino-Balkaria, July 17 has been announced to be the first day of celebrating the Eid ul-Fitr, said Aslan Gedfagov, the Imam of the central mosque in Nalchik.

The Muslims of Adygea will celebrate the completion of the fasting month of Ramadan on July 17, said Nazhmutdin Abazi, a Deputy Mufti of the SAM of Adygea and Krasnodar Territory.

In Karachay-Cherkessia, the end of the fasting will be marked on July 17, which was announced to be a day-off in the republic, said the Mufti Ismail-haji Berdiev.

In Ingushetia, as reported by the website of the head of the republic, July 17 will be the starting date for celebrating the Eid ul-Fitr.

In North Ossetia, no days-off will be announced on the occasion of the Eid ul-Fitr, said a source from the republic's SAM.

In Chechnya, the first day of the Eid ul-Fitr will fall approximately on July 18, said the spokesman of the SAM of Chechnya. The republic will have four days-off on the occasion.
