Jury renders guilty verdict to Goryachev

The jury has found Ilya Goryachev, the supposed organizer of the "Combat Organization of Russian Nationalists" (known as BORN), guilty on all indictment points. The defendant deserves no leniency, said the jurymen.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Goryachev's case is being considered by the Moscow City Court (MCC) from June 2. On July 13, the prosecution asked the jury to render a guilty verdict, while the defence and the defendant himself asked to acquit him.

The jurymen have unanimously rendered a guilty verdict to Goryachev, finding him, among other things, guilty of creating the BORN.

Let us remind you that Goryachev's case was separated from the case of the members of the BORN, which was recognized as an extremist community. According to investigators, under the command of Goryachev, several murders were committed, including the killings of the lawyer Stanislav Markelov, and antifascists Ilya Djaparidze and Fyodor Filatov. Goryachev himself refused to admit his guilt.
