Emergency regime extended in Sochi until July 13

The Sochi administration has extended the duration of the state of emergency, introduced because of the flooding that occurred in June. For the elimination of the damage caused by the disaster, the city will need over 1 billion roubles, said the press service of the administration.

Sochi was struck by the flooding on June 25; hundreds of houses were flooded. 13 victims of the disaster were hospitalized; and one person was found dead.

It was planned that the emergency regime will be in force in Sochi until July 6. Today, it became known that it will last until July 13.

"The work on liquidation of consequences continues. Our goal in the coming days is to complete cleaning river beds and completely pay compensations to all the enlisted victims," the "Interfax" quotes a source from the Sochi administration.

"Currently, 179.36 million roubles have already been transferred to citizens' bank accounts," said the source; and today the press service of the city administration has announced that in total the city will need over 1 billion to eliminate all the consequences of the flooding.
