House and office of leader of "Law and Order" in Sochi searched

Roman Shikarev, the leader of the public movement "Law and Order", gives testimony to investigators as a witness in a criminal case. His office and home were searched.

The fact that Shikarev was brought for questioning was reported by the lawyer Alexander Popkov on his Facebook.

"The lawyer Roman Shikarev, the leader of the public movement "Law and Order", in the status of being a witness, gives testimony to investigators on the criminal case, which had been opened not against him, but against his friend or client... Nothing forbidden was found in the search; they confiscated all his computers and data carriers," said Popkov.

A week before the searches, the lawyer told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he was persecuted for his public activities.

"They destroyed all my records in social networks about corruption affairs of officials of the administration, court, deputies and law enforcers," said Shikarev.

He added that the authorities "would be happy to shut him up," so, he does not exclude provocations against him.

Shikarev is known, in particular, for organizing actions of defrauded housing investors in Sochi, for his struggle for cleaning the Akhshtyr Quarry from wastes, and for protection of the rights of the pensioner Lydia Lepsveridze, who protested against decisions of courts, which had deprived her of her housing after the death of her husband.
