Two residents of Grozny suspected of helping militants

Employees of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have detained two locals in the Staropromyslovskiy District of Grozny on suspicion of helping members of illegal armed formations (IAFs).

Two residents of Chechnya, aged 42 and 36, were detained in the course of operative-search activities, a source from the MIA told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. According to the police, the detainees helped Baidulaev and Usmanov, IAF members, killed on June 26 in Grozny, while rendering armed resistance. Law enforcers believe that the detainees supplied militants with foodstuffs and money, as well as provided housing for the night.

"They have confessed of their actions," said the MIA source, adding that the issue of criminal cases against them is considered.

It should be noted that on June 27 the police detained four residents of Chechnya suspected of helping Bislan Baidulaev, who was killed by power agents in Grozny on June 26 along with Mansur Usmanov.
