Suspected militants' accomplice detained in Grozny
A resident of the Chechen capital, detained on suspicion of aiding and abetting members of the armed underground, has made a confession. This was reported by an official from the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). According to the MIA's official, a 23-year-old resident of Chechnya was detained during the search operations on June 16.
"During the interrogation, the detainee has confessed that in winter and summer of 2014, he rendered assistance to members of a criminal grouping, which operated in forested and mountainous terrain in the south of the republic," the "Caucasian Knot" was told by a Chechen policeman.
"Bandits gave him money, and he spent it to buy food for them, and then he left the purchases in an agreed place in a forested area in the mountainous Shatoi District. The police started to check the fact. The issue of opening a criminal case against the accomplice of the members of the armed underground is underway," the law enforcer has noted.
According to the policeman, the resident of the Chechen capital detained on suspicion of aiding and abetting militants is under recognizance not to leave.
Let us remind you that on June 5, a resident of Chechnya was also detained on suspicion of aiding and abetting militants. On June 2, in the village of Bratskoe of the Nadterechny District, two local residents were detained on suspicion of aiding and abetting members of the armed underground. One more suspected accomplice of militants was detained in the Chechen capital on June 1.
