Russian soldier in Gyumri confesses of killing his colleague

A contract servicemen of the 102nd Russian military base in Gyumri, has confessed of killing his colleague Ivan Novikov. A domestic conflict has been preliminarily announced as the reason of the murder.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning on June 15, in Gyumri, near the memorial complex "Mother Armenia", they found the dead body of recruit Ivan Novikov with bruises and wounds. A criminal case was opened on the murder.

His 20-year-old colleague was detained on suspicion of killing Novikov. They detainee gave confessions.

The "Interfax-South" reports with reference to the press service of the Southern Military District that it was pre-established that an everyday quarrel with the detained colleague was the reason of Novikov's murder.

Law enforcement bodies of Russia and Armenia are jointly investigating Novikov's murder case. Most of the work is being done by the Russian party, the "TASS" reports referring to Sona Truzyan, the spokesperson of the Investigating Committee of Armenia.
