Court extends house arrest of Mukhammad Magomedov

The Lenin District Court of Makhachkala has pronounced the decision to leave one of the leaders of the public organization "League of the Just" under house arrest until June 22.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 25, the Lenin District Court of Makhachkala arrested Mukhammad Magomedov for ten days. The activist is charged under Article 222 (illegal possession of weapons) and Article 223 (illegal manufacture of weapons).

On June 4, by the decision of the Supreme Court of Dagestan, Mukhammad Magomedov was released from the SIZO (pre-trial prison) and placed under house arrest.

Earlier, the Supreme Court of Dagestan has cancelled the decision of the Lenin District Court of Makhachkala concerning the pre-trial restriction measure against Mukhammad Magomedov, since the decision appeared to be inaccurate. The judge has pronounced the decision to take Mukhammad Magomedov in custody for ten days, if no charges are filed against him within ten days after his detention. Meanwhile, the judge has failed to specify the actions to be done in case if the charges are filed. This was noted by Abakar Abakarov, a friend of Mukhammad Magomedov.
