CTO regime cancelled in Untsukul District of Dagestan
Today, the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime, introduced on June 3 in the Untsukul District of Dagestan, has been cancelled because of the completion of activities. No results of these activities are specified.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 3 at 11:00 a.m. Moscow time, under the decision of the republic's operative headquarters, the Untsukul District of Dagestan was put under the CTO regime. According to local residents, shooting was heard from the village of Kharachi, blocked by power agents; and helicopters were seen circling over the village.
The RIA "Novosti" reports, referring to a source of the above operative headquarters, that the CTO regime was lifted today at 10:00 a.m., as the planned activities are over.
Earlier, it was reported that on June 3 Akhmed Kutbudinov, a resident of the village of Kharachi in the Untsukul District, was kidnapped in Makhachkala by people in black uniform, said Akhmed's relatives, who turned for legal aid to the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial". Akhmed's brother Adam Magomedov suggests that the kidnapping has to do "with the CTO conducted in Kharachi."
